Description About Crisis; pivotal moments; conflict within, between and without Food for thought: Whether it is a “state of crisis” or “pivotal moments” or “conflict”, this workbook contains an interesting array of texts, textual excerpts and articles — each with a breakdown of key ideas and literary features. The texts include:  short stories, speeches or monologues (with transcripts), essays (comment, opinion, reflective, personal), podcasts (with transcripts), poetry/songs, feature articles (including a series of blog or social media postings) and memoirs and biographical excerpts. As you evaluate your mentor text and parallel pieces, you will consider ideas relating to the theme of “crisis”.   Your task is to: leverage off the ideas of your mentor text reflect the author’s tone, style and register and use the literary and linguistic features of the mentor text. You will need to document your literary journey in your “journal”.  This involves an exploration of key ideas and literary features.
